    Welcome to the Prise de Tahure Update – our third monthly update and second additional map release for Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass. We’ve also brought out Premium Trials, made some changes to the UI, added features to the Rental Server Program, and added various tweaks and fixes to enhance gameplay. Let’s dive into the details of the Prise de Tahure Update.

    Prise de Tahure


    Prise de Tahure is our second night map and the final map for Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass. French raiders and German stormtroopers clash in an urban trench setting as the nights grow colder in the Champagne-Ardennes region. The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German and French troops. This content will be available for Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners and owners of the They Shall Not Pass expansion pack. Non-Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners will be able to access the content via Premium Friends or Premium Trials.




    PREMIUM TRIALS With this update, we’ve introduced Premium Trials. Premium Trials are timed events that allow non-Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners to experience the maps of our fully released expansion packs before they buy. Sounds similar to Premium Friends, right? It’s the same feature, but without the need to party up with a Premium Pass owner. Earning XP, spawning in vehicles released in the expansion, and progression/unlocks will be restricted to Premium Pass owners.
    MAPS & MODES



    • Soissons: Adjusted Flag D capture area in Frontlines to improve map balance.
    • Nivelle Nights: Fixed a bug where the Out of Bounds grayscale screen-effect would sometimes fail to enable.
    • Nivelle Nights: Fixed an issue where field kits in sector five in a Rush game could be used before the sector was active.
    • Fort de Vaux: Players should no longer be able to get on top of the fort around the courtyard area.


    OTHER FIXES



    • Updated the Map Voting system to exclude the previous map (as well as the current map) from the random selection pool to prevent the possible A-B-A-B map play pattern.
    • Game will now cancel matchmaking whenever backing out of the Operations globe screen. This to prevent a lingering blur state of the globe.
    • Synchronized damage taken effect to the actual shooter networked state. Previously it lead to out of sync effects where the shooter was not yet visible.
    • Fixed a rare client crash that could occur when a player joined late and a player just dropped/picked up a weapon.
    • Fixed a disconnect issue that could occur when loading a map.


    PREMIUM



    • Premium Friends - Non-Premium players' score will now show 0 throughout the match on all Scoreboards and End-of-Round screens.


    RSP



    • Added new setting to allow for limited number of specific kits.
    • Added setting for round time limit multiplier.
    • Added setting for Unlimited Magazines.
    • Countdown stops if players drop: Lowered the required player count for countdown to start game round to the minimum number of players required to finish a game if preround is enabled. The player count is unchanged if preround is disabled.
    • Implemented a latency soft lock option where players with a ping higher than 100ms higher get kicked automatically.


    UI



    • Fixed issue where the "Player-Created Content" option was grayed-out, unusable, and set to "Hide" after booting the title without a network connection.
    • Fixed the wrong transport driver chase camera caption in the controls UI.
    • The networking issues icons will not show up in Spectator Mode anymore.

    Premium Trials
    " Premium Trials and more on the horizen"
    Access New Maps with Premium Trials

    Premium Trials is a way for players who don’t own a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass to play on maps they normally wouldn’t have access to. Unlike Premium Friends, Premium Trials doesn’t require you to join a squad with a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owner – you’ll simply have access to Premium maps by logging into the game*.


    Access New Maps with Premium Trials

    The first run of Premium Trials will start with this month’s launch of Prise de Tahure, the urban- and trench-based night map for Battlefield 1. If you do not own a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, you can use Premium Trials during this period to play Prise de Tahure – along with Nivelle Nights and the 4 other maps from Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass.

    Before Gamescom, there will be another Premium Trials event after this first one. In September, another Premium Trials event will be held, meaning all players will have the opportunity to play on previously released expansion pack maps.

    Also note that the current Premium Friends period is still active and will last until Gamescom.

    " Gruesome Trench Combat" Champagne-Ardennes, 1917. French troops desperately hold on to re-captured heights in the Butte-de-Tahure region. The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German and French troops.




    FACE THE COLD NIGHTS

    As nights grow colder in the autumn after the Nivelle Offensive, this is a war of attrition between the French and German forces. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down.



  4. Nivelle Nights Update Notes

    " EA DICE " has released the patch notes for today’s Battlefield 1 update. This update is available on all platforms.

    Battlefield 1’s latest patch will update the game to version 1.06. The update also includes the following set of fixes and change for the game, as revealed by EA DICE.

    Battlefield 1 Nivelle Nights Update Notes


    Hello everyone,

    Welcome to the Update Notes for the Nivelle Nights Update. We're excited to bring you the first night map in Battlefield™ 1. The map features the French army facing off against the Germans in mud-filled trenches. The atmosphere is soothingly eerie, and the layout promotes both close quarter and long distance combat. The map will be available to Premium Pass players and They Shall Not Pass owners from today. If you do not have either, there is a chance to play the map through Premium Friends.




    NEW FEATURES:

    We have added a new screen at the end of the match, highlighting the best squad in the game. Our data has shown that players playing as part of a platoon are generally playing better than others, so if you haven't already done so, it is time to find a platoon. Earn your place in the spotlight with your platoon.



    We have also made some other changes and fixes. Here is the list of this month's items:

    WEAPONS & GADGETS


    Fixed an issue where the player's weapon got filtered audio when late-joining a game in multiplayer.

    Increased NO Killtrade distance from 10m to 20m based on community feedback.
    Corrected aiming controller settings for the Benet Mercie Optical when using 1.5x zoom. It was using iron sights settings, it will now use optical settings like the other zoom levels.
    Added blur around the Selbstlader 1906 Sniper's scope when aiming.
    Added single fire mode to the Ribeyrolles to match the description which says it's select fire.
    Ammo pouch speeds up grenade resupply if player stands close to it.
    Grenade (resupply) icon:
    - Now greyed out (lowered alpha) when out of ammo.
    - Doesn't blink anymore when out of ammo.
    - Resupply progress now shown when close to ammo crate/pouch even when player already has 1 grenade and is resupplying a second grenade (smoke).
    Fixed an exploit which allowed AT Mines to be placed on vehicles.
    Fixed issue where flamethrower audio could get stuck if killed while firing. Get it? Firing. FIRE-ing.
    Fixed issue where player was able to fire weapon while being melee-killed.


    VEHICLES


    Fixed vehicle skin descriptions not showing up in the vehicle customization screen.
    Fixed low resolution texture on Chauchat rear iron sight.
    Fixed issue where wrong players would hear vehicle Bailout voice over.


    MAPS & MODES


    Fort de Vaux:Players should no longer be able to get on top of the fort around the courtyard area.
    Fixed issue where Conquest Control scoring event was being awarded in other game modes (Operations, Domination).
    Fixed an issue where outdoor reverbs were not fully faded in when transitioning from indoor to outdoor.
    Verdun Heights: Fixed a few out-of-bounds spawns in Operations.
    Verdun Heights: Adjusted the combat area and capture area for the flag in the last Operations sector to improve the balance.
    Verdun Heights: Higher likelihood for more weather variation.
    Verdun Heights: Adjusted HQ spawns for both teams for Conquest.
    Fixed an issue where shells of the BL9 artillery on Rupture in the Rush game mode would be blocked if fired after the attackers had advanced past the second sector.
    Fixed an issue where self repair would activate without input upon entering a driver seat after leaving that seat mid repair cycle. All tank and plane parts are now fixed automatically upon the vehicle reaching full health. This prevents the confusing situation of having a healthy vehicle with broken parts.
    Implemented Frontlines on Amiens and Argonne Forest.
    Player HUD is now active during Pre-round.
    Added original lighting for Soissons to make the level brighter.


    SPECTATOR


    Camera Filters and Depth of Field settings can now be used while in Player View mode. (1st person, 3rd person, and director cameras)
    Fixed issue where all squad information was not always sent to spectator.




    RSP
    We know that the community are requesting many more features to improve the RSP program, and we continue to improve it, based on the feedback we’ve been receiving from the Battlefield community.
    - Added setting for Unlimited Magazines.


    NETCODE

    Added a tooltip on the death screen for when the player has a high latency to the server.
    Added a message about leading your shots when playing with a high latency to the server.
    Moved the latency indicator to not overlap with any other UI elements.


    XBOX ONE

    Fixed issue where game crashed after selecting several custom button mappings for the vehicle controller buttons.
    Fixed issue where game would stop at black loading screen when loading maps.


    PLAYSTATION 4

    Fixed issue where game crashed after selecting several custom button mappings for the vehicle controller buttons.
