Call of Duty WWII UPDATES / NEWS [HBS]
    " Sledgehammer Games "

SHG's first Seasonal Community Event “Winter Siege” starts 10am PST on Friday, December 8, and will run through December. There’s a ton packed into this special event, but one thing that SHG's particularly excited about is Winter Carentan. One of the most beloved maps in Call of Duty history is now set in the cold and snowy winter of 1944 and will be free to all players for a limited time during the event and will be added to all MP game modes. Be sure to check out Domination and Hardpoint, they’re two of our studio favorites for Winter Carentan. We can’t wait to play online with you. Also, we have weekly Winter Siege rewards for players that join us throughout the event, and we’ll have more to share in the coming weeks.

    Further Update details

Welcome to the Call of Duty: WWII Winter Siege Event, where winter has arrived in full force. Your mission begins in Headquarters, where the snow has already begun to fall. Captain Butcher, of the British Special Air Service forces has arrived at the Quartermaster with an inventory of cold weather gear suited for the frigid weeks ahead. Pick up your payroll, grab your winter contracts, gear up, and get ready to head into battle.

December 1944 was marked by bitterly cold weather across Europe. It is also remembered for the last major German offensive of World War II – The Battle of the Bulge. Cold, hungry, and tired, the Allied forces bore the brunt of the attack and incurred their hardest fighting of any operation during the war.

One of the first stops will be Carentan, France. Carentan is in the grip of a snow storm, and under siege by a counterinsurgent German Wehrmacht force. It will require all your training to liberate this important port city and a major crossroad for the Allied operations. Winter Carentan will be free for all players starting on Friday throughout the Winter Siege event. With Winter Mosh Pit and Gun Game modes coming, new winter weapons, gear, emblems, 2XP events, and more surprises, Winter Siege is packed with plenty of excitement throughout the month of December. Be sure to stay tuned to our channels for more information and announcements, beginning December 8th at 10AM PST.
